Your employee experience strategy is as unique as a fingerprint. Yet we all deal with the same challenges around creating an experience that both engages employees and improves their well-being.

The concepts of well-being and care are no longer just ‘nice to have’; sustainable business performance necessitates it.

As the nature of the modern workplace continues to shift from one driven by the needs of employers to one centered around the experience of employees, organizations must recognize the need to demonstrate to their workers that they care about them — both as organizational members and humans.

To do so, companies must take a “whole-person” approach to managing the employee experience, which involves integrating existing corporate well-being, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement and other programs to foster an overall sense of feeling cared for among employees.

And yet, as the world of work continues to evolve, we are experiencing an exponential change in the workplace.  The effects of our global crisis alone have magnified the important focus on designing work around and for our employees.

A whole person approach toward work life is critical for harnessing human potential to solve the complex challenges that we face today and trailblaze new frontiers.

  1. How can we bolster a whole-person approach?
  2. How does the whole organizational ecosystem play a role?

In this session Liz Pavese-Kaplan, (LinkedIn profile) Ph.D, Sr Director Limeade will dive into the science of care, share insights as to why cultures that care matter now more than ever to the employee experience, and offer practical tips on how organizations can enhance their cultures for the future of work with the whole person at the center.

Here’s What You’ll Learn:

  1. Understanding the science of care
  2. What elements matter in building a caring culture
  3. Practical tips for enhance a culture of care for the future

When natural patterns in our work and personal lives become impacted by a major event like the coronavirus pandemic, that disruption can introduce significant emotional and psychological distress.

Seemingly overnight, there is an urgency to have access to trusted news sources and facts, and for employees to work from home to prioritize their health and safety.

It also has a very personal impact on our core human needs for safety and security. Without addressing these fundamental concerns, it’s difficult for organizations to run “business as usual.”

So what do people need from their employer to remain happy, productive and successful during times of distress? The simple answer is: the same things they need all the time.

People want to feel valued and confident about the future of their organization, as well as their place in it. They also want to experience a sense of belonging, trust their leaders, be clear on where they should focus, and have a sense of stability in their work.

Employees also need to be reassured that their organization and leaders are prioritizing their safety and needs.

This is where organizations can demonstrate humanity in a big way—designing policies that make it easy for employees to work remotely, minimizing business travel, and providing access to healthcare and resources, such as backup childcare.

Employees also have a heightened need to receive timely, accurate, and candid communications about what’s happening and the impact it may have. Equally important, they need to feel empowered to express concerns and exert control where possible to protect against uncertainty.

Join Glint’s People Science Experts Jeff Jokerst (LinkedIn profile) & Carolyn Kalafut (LinkedIn profile) as they dive deeper into how you can enhance your employee experience during these times by:

  • Continuing to build habits that support agility and resilience
  • Embracing employee feedback

Here’s What You’ll Learn:

  1. How you can enhance your employee experience
  2. Continue to build habits that support agility and resilience
  3. How to embrace employee feedback

Not only has technology changed the way we work, but so has the recent pandemic. Flexible work arrangements are not just a nice to have anymore, they are the “new normal” for many.

At the same time, essential employees are often unable to work remotely.  Organizations must consider balancing business continuity goals with the employee experience and well-being – for both remote and on-premise employees.

During this webinar Neil Reichenberg (LinkedIn profile) Executive Director International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR); & Chris Mullen (LinkedIn profile) Director Strategic Advisory  Kronos; will discuss this new way of working, while providing quantifiable benefits and practical tips on how to offer flexibility in jobs that require a physical presence.

Learn the key components for making this all work for employees and businesses.

Participants can expect to discuss:

  1. Changing employee expectations – the need for flexibility
  2. Quantifiable benefits of providing flexible work arrangements
    • As outlined in the cited research and papers.
    • * Include caveat that reduced hours are not feasible for all types of work.
  3. Practical tips on how to offer flexibility in jobs that require a physical presence (in addition to the recommendations in the chapter).
    • AI-enabled schedule changes, PTO, and shift swaps for improved short-term flexibility and better work-life balance.
    • Enhanced cross-training to allow individuals to back-fill a higher percentage of jobs.
      • This reduce scheduling bottle-necks and increase scheduling flexibility.
    • Transform a few positions into “Rovers”
      • Almost like a utility player in baseball) or convert one full-time position into 2 or 3 part-time
      • Rover jobs to fill scheduling gaps as they occur to minimize the impact on other employees. *IMPORTANT: the need to support employees is crucial
  4. Explore alternative work schedules that allow employees to be off work for longer periods of time (rotating 4/12 and 3/12 shifts for example)
