Online Webinar – Recorded October 12th, 2022
Activity Type:  Education – Online or Digital Media 1 PDU – Free
Provider:  O.C. Tanner

Join thought leaders from the O.C. Tanner Institute for part one of their three-part webinar series exploring in-depth insights from the recently released 2023 Global Culture Report.

As the business landscape adjusts to new models of work and continued workplace changes, having a strong workplace community is more important than ever.

Evolving organizations that prioritize employee belonging and connection will be ideally positioned to leverage their talent and lead out on industry-changing innovation.

In part one of the series, Daniel Patterson (LinkedIn profile) of the O.C. Tanner Institute and Dr. Cristen Dalessandro (LinkedIn profile) of the O.C. Tanner Institute share their insights on how organizations can support two often-overlooked players central to the healthy workplace community: modern leaders and generalist employees.

Research reveals that the evolving demands on leaders are leaving mentors and managers stressed and underappreciated.

Generalists, those employees with diverse skillsets and interdisciplinary thinking, are also feeling the weight of feeling unsupported and unrecognized for their role in helping organizations navigate uncertainty in the workplace.

In this Global Culture Report deep-dive webinar you will:

  • Explore data and perspectives from more than 40,000 employees and leaders worldwide
  • Discover how integrated recognition can elevate performance and wellbeing for all employees, including leaders
  • Learn practical strategies for retaining and growing the talent central to building a strong workplace community

Programs and projects — whether large or small, complex or simple, multi-country or single city — can be highly successful by performing practical project management.

In this webinar Daniel Sklar (LinkedIn profile) goes beyond theory and shows you real world examples of best practices in action.

The examples come from an international program conducted by the world’s largest bottler of non-alcoholic beverages as it converted from local currencies to the euro.

Every customer, supplier, and employee was impacted, as well as anything containing a monetary value, from systems and spreadsheets to paper forms and vending machines.

This program, internally called the Euro Initiative, affected the company’s operations in multiple countries and spawned over 200 sub-projects.

The Euro Initiative achieved success by following project management best practices in a practical and intelligent manner. A top-level sales director stated it was the best project with which he had ever been associated. This webinar will present slides from the actual project and highlight key learnings that Project Managers may apply to their own projects.

It may have been 20 years ago, but we should still follow these best practices today.

Project implementation is required to reach the desired outcomes in business. There, advancement in right direction with effectively managing the scarce resource optimization is always critical and most needed.

You develop a WBS, apply project management systems, particularly EVM and then settle down with project monitoring and control processes to reach the end result – but is that enough? No, not at all.

Every system, process and methodology is put to use with the will of a team member and the level of connectivity with the task that is the “point” for taking timely action.

Your focus is required on managing the human resource, particularly connecting the team members with purpose and the objectives of the project.

Additionally, you focus on how to help satisfy each team member’s personal value.

There the human factors are of prime importance for high engagement and meaningfulness in work.

Learn how to accomplish this, as well as:

  1. The effective approach for connectivity of team members
  2. Why aligning the personal value is important with that of a project
  3. Why dealing with negative emotions is important
  4. How to maintain the connectivity

Presenter: M. Aslam Mirza (LinkedIn profile) as President of Integrated Management Services he helps Organizational Transformation, building capacity to enhance Organizational competence for advancement in strategic direction, effective governance & control. His rich insights are derived from 40+yrs exposure to hands-on challenges in positions on sizeable projects, including business management, organizational leadership, high performing team building, and participation in task team for research and development of PMI-Standards for OPM3, PPM Management, and the PM Competency Development Framework.
