Paradoxes in project leadership: situational awareness & call to action
In project management, we must facilitate several issues, which include.

  • Dichotomies such as long-term versus short-term goals
  • Empowerment versus micromanagement
  • Mentorship versus firing
  • Discipline versus choice

Join Usman Murtaza (LinkedIn profile) who will ask “How can we effectively recognize and negotiate with those situations?”

The Agile Coach is a relatively new role; it is not very well defined and often overrated.

From the first concept of ‘coach’ introduced in Extreme Programming (XP) which was more of a system architect to the Scrum Master in the service of the Team and the organization, the role morphed in many organizations to a pure consulting role.

Most modern Agile frameworks are created as empirical approaches based on a very simple principle: fail fast, learn faster.

  1. What is the role of an Agile Coach in an Agile transformation?
  2. What skills and experience are required to add value to the process?

These questions among others will be addressed in this webinar.

In this webinar Stelian Roman (LinkedIn profile) presents his 20+ years’ experience in implementing Agile for software teams and later his experience as a Project Manager and Scrum Master working with Agile Coaches.

The Climate is under serious threat, we face a Global Climate Crisis.

This is no longer under debate, but an increasingly concerning message from the global scientific community.

The science has been evidenced through the heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, storms, and flooding of the Global record-breaking Summer of 2023.

Urgent action is needed, but the good news is that if we act quickly and on a massive scale, we can significantly reduce the impact of Climate Change.

In many areas, we already know what to do, we just need to “speed it up” and “scale it up”.

The UN tells us that we need “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once”.
The project management community has the skills to deliver against this seemingly impossible challenge.

There will be tremendous opportunities for project professionals at all levels (Project, Program and Portfolio) arising from the unprecedented level of funding that are being applied towards Mitigating and Adapting to Climate Change.

The PMI serves over 5 million project professionals globally. Together we can make a significant positive impact.

Sam Baker (LinkedIn profile) & Stuart Thorp (LinkedIn profile) will illustrate the opportunities for working together through some examples from PMI Chapter collaboration in Europe including by conducting Climate Fresk workshops.

In this webinar Harvey Robbins discusses the six keys to making global virtual teams work more effectively.

Included in the discussion are factors such as:

  1. The creation of goals/objectives,
  2. The identification of roles/responsibilities, the recognition of potential barriers to team success,
  3. Issues such as leadership and communication, and
  4. The role personality differences plays in team effectiveness

The last key is identifying and remediating the cultural differences that occur specifically with global teams; how they make decisions and resolve conflicts based on their cultural norms.

The two presenters are well versed in both the creation of high performing project teams and dealing with the cultural differences present in global virtual teams.
