Medical writing and project management are two sides of the coins because one can write and produce quality documents to the regulators successfully only with managing the project effectively.

The medical writer has to think because of the intellectual nature of the job, and one has to think through the concept, analyze, and interpret the data.

This is not possible without coordinating with the core team members viz. clinician, clinical operations’ project manager, biostatistician, data manager, clinical research associates, publisher, research scientist, accounts and legal departments, facility (clinical site) staff, and the management of the Sponsor. At the same time confidentiality of the work and the information is of utmost importance before it comes in the public domain as this might involve the individual subject’s confidential information also!

Here comes the importance of the project management in medical writing.

Through initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and controlling, and closing, the publication writing project can be successfully completed with the project management effectively by skilled dedicated project manager (PM). Project management in medical writing is critical and is led effectively through these building blocks which improves ways to work towards medical writing projects with skillsets while maintaining the business acumen.

Learning outcomes:

Project management successfully drives the medical writing projects through the hurdles of time stringency, lack of resources, or ‘billable’ hours through project management skills such as communication, risk management, leadership, negotiation, critical thinking, and problem solving.

As powerful as humility is, a common misconception is that it’s a sign of weakness. Some think that people who are humble behave as if they are inferior to others.

As a result, humility is not regarded as a critical skill. But the fact is that there is an incredible amount of courage and strength involved in the practice of humility especially for those in leadership.

As a leader in the project management space, it is critical for you to understand that humility is the foundation of great leaders, and the basis for world-class customer service.

In this webinar Sunday (Sunny) Faronbi (LinkedIn profile)will highlight how humility can take your career to heights you may not have imagined.

At the end of the webinar, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe how lack of humility reflects in behaviors
  • Outline the benefits that being humble brings to people in leadership
  • Practice the action steps needed to develop ongoing humility

Project management practices, just like other management practices, have undergone changes over the past five decades. Executives in both government agencies and private industry are now realizing that project management is not just a career path position for workers, but a strategic competency necessary for the future of their organization.

The goal is not merely to work on projects, but to create sustainable long-term business value and benefits from the projects, and to be able to make rapid decisions based upon evidence and facts rather than guesses.

This will require all workers, including senior managers, project managers, and support organizations to have a better understanding of the changes that are expected to take place in the project management landscape over the next decade and to implement some of the changes that best fit their vision for the future of their firm.

At this webinar, you will be provided with a “window into the future” so that you can decide how best to plan for the implementation of expected business drivers. Project managers will see how their job will be changing over the next decade and can prepare for it in a timely manner.

Upon completion of this webinar, the participants will be able to:

  • Understand the need for growth in using flexible frameworks
  • Describe the new life cycle phases for projects and programs
  • Identify the new skills you will need, especially new forms of project/program management leadership
  • Recognize the importance of information warehouses and how they impact the project manager’s role and project decision-making
  • Learn the new metrics needed for tracking performance (i.e., strategic project metrics, tangible project value metrics, and intangible project value metrics)
