Learn to quickly assess a project’s viability using a three-step approach.

First, learn how to determine where the project falls on a spectrum ranging from simple to chaotic. Second, learn the organizational balance needed to move the project forward based on where the project is on that spectrum.

And, finally, learn the organizational changes needed as you move the project towards simplicity and success. It all boils down to one question.

During the post-pandemic era companies are striving to deliver more with less resources available at their disposal. There are various industry practices such as Lean, Six Sigma and Agile which the companies are trying to understand and embrace.

For a successful implementation of these strategies with an overall objective of delivering best value to the customer in the shortest possible time, it is necessary to understand the inner strengths of these philosophies to create a framework for effective implementation.

While we talk about Lean, it is basically a methodology to systematically eliminate wastes from the system. Whereas, Six Sigma methodology ensures reducing the variability of a given system.

Agile on the other hand, helps project teams to operate with more flexibility, allowing them to adapt to change quickly and develop a product or a service in a faster time as per the changing demand of the customer.

Goutam Sengupta‘s (LinkedIn profile) session shall address the importance of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile and examine whether those methodologies can be judicially mixed to deliver best value to the customer particularly during the post-pandemic era when the resources are scarce and rules of doing businesses have changed, making the customer demanding much faster deliveries.

That’s the thinking behind what may be called as next generation Lean-Six Sigma-Agile methodology, which blends the tools and techniques of all these three important concepts.

This innovative tool may bail the pandemic inflicted industries particularly the SMEs out from the perils they faced during the period of Covid-19.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understanding the plight that the pandemic has inflicted on industry performances particularly for SME Sector.
  • Understanding the importance and significance of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile methodologies
  • Brainstorming on the feasible solutions to combat this perilous situation.
  • The power of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile to overcome this crisis.
  • Comprehending application of Research Methodologies carried out by us for SME Sector during pandemic times for introduction of Lean, Six Sigma and Agile methodologies in a blended manner.
  • Evolving a framework for rejuvenation of industry performances by judicious mixing of these three vital methodologies to deliver best value to the customer.

Live Webinar December 7th, 2022 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm EST
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU
Provider: PMTA  Project Management Training Alliance

December 7, 1941, is, in President F.D. Roosevelt’s words, “a date which will live in infamy.”

Could the Japanese surprise attack have been avoided? If defending the Hawaiian island of Oahu against internal and external threats was the primary objective of the military authorities, could the U.S. forces have been better prepared?

Just how good was Japan’s plan for “Operation Hawaii”?

In this presentation Walter Viali will address how project management could have helped mitigate or outright avoid one of the darkest days in the history of the United States.

The first hour of the presentation covers the events leading up to the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, while the second hour of the presentation examines the Japanese project of attacking Pearl Harbor and the U.S. project of defending Hawaii from a project management perspective, using the PMBOK Guide Knowledge Areas.

Also discussed are the assumptions made by the military leaders of both countries, what happened to the main protagonists involved directly or indirectly in the attack on Pearl Harbor, and valuable lessons learned for today’s project managers.

Presenter: Walter Viali (LinkedIn profile) PMP brings 30+ years of experience leading projects and building PMOs for his clients around the globe. He brings  expertise including Strategic Business Planning, Business Reengineering, Portfolio Management, and Project Management Office (PMO) implementation & has extensive experience conducting organizational assessments using the Software Engineering Capability Maturity Model (SEI CMM). He teaches project management and business analysis at the University of Houston. Walter is the co-author of the book Accelerating Change with Organizational Project Management: The New Paradigm for Change.  Walter volunteers for PMI in leadership positions (Houston Chapter & Clear Lake Galveston Chapters) serving as the Region 6 Mentor and making numerous presentations for chapters & at the PMI National Congress.

As the market heats up and the complexity of doing business continues to increase, individuals and organizations are seeking insights that might help them simplify things.

In the past, things were simpler, and everything revolved around profit, process, product, etc.

Prior to the pandemic, organizations focused 80 – 90% on running the business and 10-20% on changing how they do business. In less than 5 years, management focus will be 30% on running the business and 70% on changing the way they do business.

While there are change models out there, following one over the others is not the key to successful change implementation. This webinar will discuss key measures for successful change management that flow from leading change through uncertainties.

Cut through all the noise and make your voice heard–in any channel. Elise Carlson (LinkedIn Profile) is constantly saturated by communication.

From radio to YouTube ads and voicemails to emails, we hear it all. Or do we?

It’s too easy to tune out all the messages that bombard us. We skim email subjects and think we’ll come back to them later, but we sometimes forget.

In the same way, others often miss out on the key information you send.

In this webinar, Elise will uncover ways to blast through the noise and get noticed, whether it’s in-person or digital. Not only will this ensure your message is heard, but it will also make you stand out–and people will be ready to listen again.
