Being a new project manager is a challenge. Where do you start? There is process to manage, expectations to confront, stakeholders to deal with and accountabilities that you are only beginning to appreciate.

It’s one thing to think you have the essentials of process. It is another thing to apply it well, in an ambiguous, uncertain and political environment. Being a new project manager is never easy, and trial and error is often a part of it.

In this presentation Mark Mullaly (LinkedIn profile) author of Researching the Value of Project Managemen endeavors to take some of the guesswork out of getting started.

You’ll explore the essentials of what it takes to be an effective project manager, and how to put your best foot forward on your first day in the role. He examines what you need to now about process, practices, people and politics. You’ll get experienced advice to apply in a situation where experience is what you most feel is missing.

Whether you are a new project manager, or one that has been around the block a few times, this is a presentation where you are likely to still get a wealth of value and insight.

Strategy Implementation refers to the execution of the plans to accomplish the organization’s long-term goals.

It converts the opted strategy into the moves and actions of the organization to achieve the objectives. In today’s world driven by change, it is a rare and valuable skill set that sets apart the most successful and influential leaders in business. Individuals with proven ability to implement strategy are in high demand worldwide.

Yet, the current generation of leaders has been taught how to plan but not how to implement. This is reflected in the high strategy implementation failure rate, which drives the need for leaders to enhance their abilities and become recognized implementation specialists.

Yet, often, managers and leaders are asked to implement their organization’s strategy but are not provided with the guidance or any kind of roadmap to do so.

To fill in this implementation gap, we have developed the Strategy Implementation Roadmap, which consists of the seven pillars required to be successful in implementation.

In this webinar Antonio Nieto-Rodriquez, (LinkedIn profile)  will focus on exploring each of the pillars of this new and easy-to-apply framework that will help you build your own strategy implementation roadmap.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Understand the most frequent pitfalls when implementing a strategy
  2. Learn about the 7 components of the Strategy Implementation Roadmap and how to apply them
  3. Understand the skills you need to develop to move from project manager and/or agile into a strategy implementation professional

As certified PMPs, one of our hallmarks is to be able to control scope, manage the schedule, and deliver project requirements on budget.  But it is far too often that, although a project is successful in meeting scope, its projected benefits are lacking.

The gap between charter and scope can result in significant unforeseen covert constraints to project impact.

This leads to a variety of impact issues, ranging from the need for additional sub projects, funding, and configuration change to project management creditability and stakeholder management drama.

Closing the Charter Gap is the validation of requirements against benefits and the business case to ensure that the end-product will deliver the financial, service, and cultural result it was envisioned to achieve.

The pandemic changed how we live, work, and interact. And while we are happy to leave some of those changes behind as the world opens, some lessons are here to stay.

As we adjusted to changing work environments, we learned how to work with teams when we couldn’t be with them in person. We also learned what our co-workers’ families look like. In application quality—we learned how to work differently and still get the job done.

In this webinar, Eran Kinsbruner (Chief Evangelist Test Automation Products) and Steve Borielllo (Senior Engineering Services Architect) will discuss the top five things we learned working with leading global
companies throughout the pandemic. These tales from the field (and home offices) are not to be missed!

Eran will cover:

  • Criticality of digital channels
  • Remote testing and cloud services
  • Testing tool choices to facilitate cross-team collaboration
  • Contingency planning / Working through the unexpected
  • Adjusting as you learn new information

Presenter: Eran Kinsbruner (LinkedIn profile) Mobile Technical Evangelist Perfecto,  and author of The Digital Quality Handbook: Guide for Achieving Continuous Quality in a DevOps Reality; & Continuous Testing for DevOps Professionals: A Practical Guide From Industry Experts has extensive experience in the mobile testing market. Prior to Perfecto, he was the mobile testing CTO at Texas Instruments and project manager at Matrix, and he co-invented a test-exclusion automated mechanism for mobile J2ME testing at Sun Microsystems.
