Supply Chain Management (SCM) is the practice of coordinating sourcing, production, inventory management and transportation among all the actors and focuses on speed, cost and reliability of operations.

Sustainable SCM adds the goals of environmental and social values to it and this means addressing global issues such as climate change, water security, deforestation, human rights, fair labour practices corruption etc.

In short Raju Rao (LinkedIn profile) says we have to consider all the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN. SCM is inherently operational though various projects could be identified within the chain.

The Sustainability paradigm has added another dimension for projects within SCM because many of the initiatives being discussed now and in the near future are in fact projects.

These are guided by the recent interest in principles and practices of circular economy, sustainable sourcing waste recovery & management, resource efficiency, reverse logistics etc among others.

At some point in time, possibly in the coming decade, sustainability as a mindset will be fully set and one would view it as a an operational parameter, till then all efforts to become sustainable will be achieved largely through projects.

Learning Outcomes:

  • What is SCM and Sustainable SCM?
  • Principles & Practices for SCM to become sustainable
  • Project Management Framework & Methodology for Sustainable SCM
  • What can we do as project professionals?

Activity Type:  Education – Online or Digital Media 1 PDU – Free

Here we are, 10 months after the biggest bang of most of our careers – generative AI – and the question is no longer what is it, but how are organizations putting it into action?

Generative AI accelerated the business agility agenda from discussions to proactionary approaches and strategies, but few organizations have determined the best ways to measure and quantify these initiatives or consistently track them to demonstrate shareholder value.

In this webinar Frances Karamouzis  (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Chief of Research explores the realities of generative AI versus the hype.

You will get real-life examples of organizations that have taken actions and funded initiatives. Gartner experts will take you through different categories of generative AI, the cost side of the equation, and the measurements of value to help your organization determine the best path forward.

Discussion Topics:

  • Identify the realities of actioned investments vs. the hype 10 months after GenAI’s emergence
  • Determine the framework for identifying, vetting, and funding AI and generative AI initiatives
  • Explore value measurement and quantification

In simple terms, an ally is someone who stands up for the equitable and fair treatment of someone who is different from them.

Anyone can be an ally for a marginalized or vulnerable group; it involves actively listening and learning about others’ experiences, as well as taking action to end discrimination.

Allyship hinges on embracing a learning mindset and a willingness to question your assumptions, evolve your thinking, and own your mistakes.

In this webinar, Phillip will explore the relationship between inclusion and belonging, reflecting on dimensions of diversity that have shaped our personal access to opportunity.

He will investigate the concepts of power and privilege through a relational lens, identifying concrete steps we can take to interrupt bias and address injustice. Lastly, he’ll delve into real-life scenarios involving micro-aggressions and discrimination, brainstorming ways that allies can take action.

Employees who believe that their jobs can be replaced by AI have a 27% lower intent to stay in their organization. At an average organization of 10,000 employees, this decrease in intent to stay costs 53 million USD per year in total costs and lost productivity.

The impact of generative AI (GenAI) on jobs and workers will vary greatly depending on labor market dynamics and other demand drivers.

This blend of certainty and uncertainty makes it difficult for executive leaders to create solid workforce plans that align with their technology and business investments. Join our expert, Helen Poitevin (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Distinguished VP Analyst,, in this Gartner IT webinar to learn how to future-proof your workforce by structuring and adapting AI strategies.

You will walk away from this session with answers to your vital questions, a copy of the research slides, and a defined plan of action for your strategic goals.

Discussion Topics:

  • Define your AI ambition along with key AI and GenAI investments
  • Assess the talent implications of AI investments within your business context
  • Plan for investments per talent segment to prepare your workforce for the years ahead

Across industries, countries, and generations, discussions about AI, particularly generative AI (GenAI), are regularly occurring.

According to Gartner predictions, by 2026, over 100 million people will engage robo-colleagues (synthetic virtual colleagues) to contribute to enterprise work. While the benefits of productivity and revenue are compelling motives, the traditional approach to benefit and risk analysis is not enough to avoid potentially irreversible damage to the organization.

Join Ellen Eichhorn (LinkedIn profile, Gartner bio) Gartner Sr Director Analyst; who  discusses how to separate the hype, hope, and reality of AI in manufacturing. Also, differentiate AI, generative AI, and machine learning (ML), and examine functional criteria when pursuing this technology.

Discussion Topics:

  • Differentiate GenAI and AI
  • Communicate the business value of AI/GenAI
  • Get insights to AI use cases for manufacturing leaders
