Agile has become mainstream for developing software.

Organizations that have adopted agile have seen improvements in quality, cycle time, and customer satisfaction.  Standish Group research shows that agile projects are three times more successful than traditional plan driven projects.

However using Agile Development practices does not make an agile organization.

Frequent delivery of software provides little value if the software cannot be deployed because of rigid release and change management processes.

Another significant challenge facing enterprises is how to coordinate agile teams across multiple projects in multi-disciplined environments.

Companies are appointing agile coaches to individual projects, but there is little or no company-wide coordination.

In addition, little has been done to help transform the business to be able to respond more rapidly to change.

Agile transformation requires focus on four key areas:

  1. Agile Discovery
  2. Agile Delivery
  3. DevOps
  4. Agile Business Change

In this webinar, John will address these four topics with heavy emphasis on Agile Discovery and Agile Business Change and discuss how BAs and PMs will need to transform to operate in the agile environment.

Presenter: John E. Parker (LinkedIn profile) President and CEO Enfocus Solutions Inc.

Process management helps to provide a line of sight from strategy through execution of organizational initiatives.

Akin to the business analysis (BA) requirements discipline, this traceability enables performance maturity, better communication, clearer roles and responsibilities, and good governance.

Clarification of problems or opportunities for improvement is integral to business analysis and process management.

In each, you must elicit and clearly state a specific problem that quantifiably affects business/operation and that ultimately matters to your customers.

Process management is:

  • An integral part of business analysis, implementation, improvement, and sustainability,
  • Solves problems, and
  • Expedites risk identification, mitigation, and impact.

In this webinar Vicki will explain how to:

  1. Tie process management to organizational strategy,
  2. Use process management as a foundation of good decision making, change management, and governance, and
  3. Increase efficiency and value optimization throughout the organization.

Presenter: Vicki Hoard, PMP, (LinkedIn profile) Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, is a Senior Consulting Manager with Robbins Gioia’s Process Refinement & Optimization Practice. Vicki is responsible for developing and tailoring business process management and improvement methods. The goal of Agile teams is to continuously deliver high-value outcomes—as quickly as possible.

To achieve this, these teams focus on skills, not titles or traditional role delineations.

  • So what does that mean for the experienced project manager, product manager, or business analyst?
  • Where do their planning and analysis skills fit into Agile’s fierce focus on frequent delivery?

Drawing on her insights from coaching Agile teams, Mary addresses these questions and outlines the dynamic relationships between agile work, disciplines, and skills. Join us to discover how re-positioning from role-based to skill-based work enables you to collaboratively contribute to any agile effort.

Presenter : Mary Gorman CBAP, CSM (LinkedIn profile), is VP of quality and delivery at EBG Consulting. Mary works with global clients, speaks at industry conferences, and writes on requirements topics for the business analysis community. Duration:  1 Hour  Credits: 1 PDU/CDU  Cat B – Free PDU/CDU
Presented by: IIBA    Pharma/Biotech SIG

This webinar will focus on the three main areas that comprise pharmaceutical R&D:

  1. The Beginning of Basic Discovery: Identifying a Disease process (What’s wrong?)
  2. Preclinical Development and Phase I trials: What the drug does to the body? What does the body do to the drug? (Toxicology and Safety)
  3. Clinical Development: Clinical trials to determine drug safety in humans. (Effectiveness/Safety Regulations)

Part one covers the various aspects of basic research. This sets the stage for discussing the purpose of preclinical development and describing what that entails.

The goal is to demystify each step in the process for the non-scientist.

Lastly, there are certain regulations and guidelines that govern human clinical trials to ensure drug safety in larger populations, clinical development.

For those who would like to learn more about the Pharma/Biotech R&D domain, this introduction will provide an overview of the high level processes from the lab to the clinic.

Presenter: Aubrey Watkins III, Ph.D. (LinkedIn profile), is Associate Director, Global Procurement, at Merck Sharp & Dohme, and is responsible for establishing contracts and managing over $100M of business with suppliers on a global basis in support of pre-clinical research and manufacturing of vaccines and biologics for Phase I trials.
