There is no shortage of commentary and ‘vision’ about the way in which AI will impact projects and project managers.

At present only a few companies have developed working platforms for time and/or cost management, with the majority being pre-commercial.

Endeavour Programme’s platform Octant AI focusses on mitigating poor cost performance and is in commercial operational use for infrastructure projects. Early adopters are changing the way they manage their projects based on its near real time actionable predictions.

This presentation will focus on the lived experience of developing and implementing an AI platform in a customer organisation.

David will cover issues that have had practical impact such as paradigm change, problem definition, data availability, response from professionals using the system and return on investment.

Real-World Project Management Webinar Series

Projects are one of the key areas of a business where risk management is essential to satisfy both internal and external stakeholders. However, it is one of the project management tools that is the least well understood or applied, meaning that it can be seen as a waste of resources without adding any value in the process.

It is, therefore, quite often paid lip service to, and ends up with an unhelpful, boring review of a bad risk register.

When risk management is carefully planned, it can make a real difference and add value to the project.  This starts from the top (management) with real commitment, from the initial stages of the project, continuing across the project (at all levels) and throughout the project life cycle.

We must consider how to be realistic about what projects are trying to achieve and the real commitment needed to making risk management work – at the same time recognising some of the contractual pressures that teams face, that are not usually faced by operational activities within an organisation.

In this webinar Kate & Sarah will explore the gaps often seen in project risk management, and how to ensure tools are applied through:

  • Real commitment
  • Real planning
  • Real risks
  • Real controls

Preparing For Projects In A Post-Pandemic World

As project managers, we tend to treat projects with a strongly ‘mechanistic’ approach: the work can be broken down, executed and controlled as a series of interlocking parts.

This is the technical, engineering-based conceptualisation, derived from the roots of the subject. While acknowledging the many benefits of this view, mindful project management ventures beyond this mechanistic approach, into the unknown and the unexpected.

In this webinar Dr. Elmar Kutsch (LinkedIn profile) 2017 winner of the the Cranfield SOM Teaching and Learning Faculty award for excellence in researching, developing, delivering and publishing impactful case studies; critically reviews the key practices of risk management and scenario planning, and their suitability to take us to and beyond the risk horizon.

The global supply chain has been drastically impacted by COVID-19, as companies have been challenged to pivot quickly; thus, creating new challenges within the organization’s extended enterprise.

Many organizations now confront higher-risk third-party partnerships that must be quickly onboarded, with fewer structures in place to monitor the relationship.

In this webinar Lee Elliott (LinkedIn profile) Gartner Director Advisory explores the strategies you need to handle these new demands!

Discussion Topics:

  • Clearly communicate third-party risk tolerance across the business
  • Expedite third-party onboarding to reduce lengthy due diligence
  • Support critical third parties in managing compliance risk
