What Stops Us from Being Our Best?

Most companies talk about excellence, but what does that really mean?

This webcast gives you a concise starting point to understand the specific attitudes and practices needed to develop and maintain a culture of excellence.

Drawing on years of study and decades of experience, this program examines the five core qualities of excellence and offers advice on achieving it within your organization.

In this entertaining and enlightening program, Harry Paul will explain how to give and be your best in each of these five critical dimensions and foster excellence in your organization and in your life.

Learn how to create a culture of excellence where everyone is giving and being their best.

This Session will discuss:

  • That excellence is an inside out proposition; that excellence is not how you are measured against others but how you stack up against your potential; and that there is no silver or bronze medal for excellence. Excellence is your best. Anything less is less.
  • Using the five qualities of excellence that help attain and maintain excellence at work and at home.
  • How to keep excellence from being kidnapped and replaced by average.
  • So what? The next steps to maintain excellence and banish average forever.
  • That…. All the above leads to increased performance, unique customer experiences, and higher employee engagement.

Based on his newest book Who Kidnapped Excellence?: What Stops Us from Giving and Being Our Best  harry will help you learn about tools, action steps, and hear examples to help you achieve professional and personal excellence.

We encourage you to register even if you are unable to attend live; you’ll receive replay information following the event.

Data modelling is often seen as a technical activity and some would argue outside the BA’s responsibility.

However, data models that are not technical in nature can be used to validate and explore the requirements.

Ultimately, it can allow us to identify important questions that need to be asked or assumptions that need to be tested that are not obvious when using other functional models.

This was a community driven event drawing on and sharing the experiences of our community.

This webinar was part of the ‘Be a Better BA’ Webinar Series bought to you in association with Yonix and BA Mentor.

Not all roles are created equal, but how should open positions be prioritized to ensure recruiters are working on what matters most to the business?

Without a well-defined process in place, recruiters at many organizations prioritize open positions based on which hiring manager makes the biggest fuss.

In this HCI Keynote address, Natalie Leone, Global Head of Talent Acquisition at BlackRock, explains how this leading investment management firm transformed recruiting activities to align with its most pressing talent needs.

Key Insights:

  • Prioritizing recruiters’ workloads by limiting the number of open requisitions at any time and asking business units to identify their most critical talent needs.
  • Allocating recruiting resources to business units based on incremental hiring and attrition data on a prorated basis.
  • Reducing recruiters’ req-loads to decrease stress and improve time-to-hire by 42%.

Many organisations are on a change treadmill – from continuous improvement to operating model transformation – that can stress their people, processes and technology.

How can leaders and project managers reduce the people impact of this “change treadmill” – where people can lose their bearings and ultimately impact performance?

This is where a compelling case for change comes in.

Joseph Gherardi (LinkedIn profile) discusses some thoughts and my experiences on creating and using a compelling case for change and how it can help guide people through a change.

What makes a compelling case for change and how is it created? Who is responsible for the driving it and who owns it. Who produces it? How can it be used?
