Unfortunately, there’s a lot of silence about what happens before iteration 1. But isn’t everything supposed to happen after the first iteration? Doesn’t the Product Backlog just evolve on its own after starting the project?

Yes, we could just get started with a number of user stories. And we would make some progress and get some things done. But is that really effective? Are we reaching the full potential of what could be created?

There are some key elements you should have in place before the first iteration. Let’s state (or re-state) the overall vision and purpose of the product. We need to truly understand the people who are going to use it, for now, and for the future. And let’s analyze what can affect our outcome. These critical factors will inform the initial product backlog creation.

Having these important things will ensure a better start for your Agile project.

What You Will Learn

After this one-hour session, learners will be able to:

  • Identify the key factors that contribute to a successful Agile project start
  • Focus on personas and journey maps and a business canvas
  • Recognize the attribute of an initial product backlog

Live Webinar – May 16th, 2023 11:00 am – 1:00 pm EDT
Activity Type: Education – Course or Training  1 Hour  1 PDU free

Branching scenarios can engage learners and provide relevant decision-making practice.

While branching scenarios can be very valuable, nothing is the right solution for every training problem.

Branching scenarios can be challenging to design and time-consuming to build.

That might leave you wondering:

  1. When is it worth the time and effort to create a branching scenario?
  2. When do the benefits of branching scenarios outweigh the costs to create them?
  3. Are there any easier alternatives that could work, or might even work better in some situations?

In this webinar, Christy Tucker  (LinkedIn profile) Instructional Designer, Syniad Learning will discuss how to evaluate training problems to decide when to use a branching scenario or another approach.

You’ll review criteria for deciding when branching scenarios provide enough benefit to justify the effort required to create them.

This will help you use branching scenarios when they matter most, saving you time and effort while creating quality learning experiences.

During this webinar, you’ll also explore alternatives to branching scenarios such as constrained branching and one-question mini-scenarios.

These alternatives use some elements of branching scenarios but are simpler to design and develop.

Christy will review several examples of different approaches to scenario-based learning.

You’ll leave this session with criteria to decide which scenario-based approach to use and ideas on how to apply them.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • How to decide if a branching scenario is the best approach
  • Why branching scenarios are an effective solution for certain types of training problems
  • How branching scenarios and other scenario-based approaches can be used in different learning domains and kinds of training
  • How to save time and effort by using alternatives like one-question mini scenarios and constrained branching
  • What criteria can help you choose branching scenarios or other strategies
