Live Webinar March 25th, 2015, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm EDT
Duration:1 hour Webcast Up to 1 Category C PDU – Free PDU
Hosted By:  StickyMinds/Techwell

Because priorities constantly change at the business level, teams struggle to communicate changes to everyone—slowing down development and delivering business value.

SAFe is a proven process framework for scaling lean and agile across the enterprise.

Combining SAFe with the IBM DevOps approach provides a comprehensive process and tooling framework for an optimized end-to-end lifecycle.

The result is a solution that supports enterprises—from the small IT shop to the large, regulated IT environment—in addressing critical business imperatives.

In this web seminar, you’ll learn how to apply lean and agile principles with multiple teams and implement powerful DevOps tools and practices.

Learn to:

  1. Eliminate waste and reduce delivery cycle time
  2. Get up and running quickly with out-of-the-box infrastructure to lead a SAFe project
  3. Improve agility and predictability with DevOps practices
  4. Simplify change to culture and process with access to SAFe guidance

Adoption of automating tests has not happened as quickly as organizations need.

As more companies move to implementing Agile Development as their software development life cycle, more features are implemented to production quicker.

This leaves less time for full regression testing of the system, but yet this still should occur. Manual testers need to transform into test automation testers as well.

Test automation professionals are largely believed to have deep knowledge of a development scripting language.

Many manual testers believe they have to learn a development language in addition to the functionality of the tool to be effective. Add to that the in-depth or SME knowledge one must have for their system under test, along with development and management support required, and it may not seem clear where to start.

Session Takeaways:

  • How to look at the application differently from manual to automated testing
  • How to start in automation without a programming background
  • Where a manual tester should start with automation, such as test structure, object recognition and results interpretation

Scaling Agile Testing Using the TMMi

Agile methods, principles and techniques are core to how many IT organizations develop and maintain software.

However, even though techniques like Test-Driven Development and scrum are widely practiced, one common complaint is that it is difficult to scale these practices.

In large projects and programs, this is code for “testing gets squeezed as though it were 1999.”

Scaling Agile, in general, and Agile testing, specifically, requires having a framework to help teams, stakeholders and program managers to identify what is needed to deliver quality and value.

The Test Maturity Model integration (TMMi) is a framework for effective testing in an Agile environment. The TMMi is not prescriptive; rather, the model is outcome-focused. Using such a framework to scale helps teams and organizations to make decisions that ensure that testing is not only cost efficient but also effective.

This webinar will outline the TMMi and provide a process for using environmental, technical and project context to effectively integrate testing into an Agile development environment, measuring the effectiveness of the process.
